The Westmoor Park Barn is located at Westmoor Park in West Hartford,
Connecticut. The 160 acre property was a farm that was donated to the town. It
had several large barns, but they were not suitable for public access. The park
directors wanted a barn that could be used as a demonstration barn where
children and adults could observe and interact with farm animals.
Royalston Oak designed and built the frame for the Westmoor Park Barn in
1989. Although the design of the barn is not traditional, the timber frame uses
traditional joinery and is entirely fastened with wooden pegs and wedges.
